A couple days ago, as I'm sure most people have heard by now, the WWE wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife, child, and himself in a double-murder / suicide. This is really sad, for so many different reasons. I remember watching him perform over the years. I've never really been a real big "super fan" of wrestling, but I have watched it on and off for a few years now. Some of my friends are pretty into it, and it gives me another level to connect on with them, have something to talk about and such. The whole soap-opera style story lines they come up with can be fun, too. Chris Benoit was one of my favorite wrestlers to see perform.
This whole thing has really shown me how people can can quickly jump pick one side and then completely turn around once they hear something new.
That night, WWE canceled their live event to air a tribute to Benoit's life, family, and career. I didn't actually hear about this until the show was almost over, but I was able to catch the last twenty minutes or so. The stadium was empty, and the only people (that I saw) in attendance were the two ringside announcers. Vince McMahon opened the show up with a heartfelt statement explaining what happened, which I later saw on the YouTube. The whole show had highlights from his career, and fellow superstars talking about their memories with the guy. The show ended with a match from a WrestleMania main event a few years back. The match ended with him winning, breaking down in tears. His late friend Eddie Guerrero (who died a couple years ago of an enlarged heart) coming out to congratulate him. His wife and children were also out there. Confetti was raining down, and the ring was alive with celebration.
Most, if not all of this, was on the front page headlines for WWE.com. The main story was of his family's death, and next to it was clips of the show ready for streaming. I was checking off and on for updates throughout the night. About an hour after the show ended, the main story had been changed to mention the double-murder / suicide angle of the investigation, and said that a full story was coming soon. All of the tributes were gone, and replaced by the same junk that was there before. Then last night's ECW show was opened with an announcement that, because of evidence found, there will be no more mention of his name.
As soon as they heard something different; as soon as they heard that Benoit himself might have done it, they instantly cut themselves away from him. All that was said was that the police were investigating it as a muder / suicide, nothing was fact yet. The whole public opinion shifted from prayers and praise to curses and bashing. Yes, there are more facts available now, but everyone seems to be too quick to judge anything reasonably. Even the whole mood on Digg, which usually is rampant with assorted trolls and sickos (at times, almost as bad as BlabberMouth.net's audience....) seemed to be positive at first, but once something changed, so did they. I don't know, it just amazes me.
I bet that if the police would come out to say that they think it might have been a set up to make it look like Benoit did it, everyone would shift sides once again, quicker than you could even blink.
MTV to Produce Paris Hilton Cartoon

According to the New York Daily News, hotel heiress Paris Hilton will get to be the heroine of her own animated series. The series will be produced by Stan Lee and air on MTV, although no start date was announced.
Putting aside the utter ridiculousness of the IDEA and other obvious flaws with this announcement, what the hell is this going to be about?
Is it just going to be another Stripperella, only with a lot less body-mass? Instead of fighting the usual "bad guys", she'll just get drunk, smoke pot, and have sex with any man who would have her?
Think of the story-lines... her secret identity is revealed by way of grainy night vision video footage? Someone frames her for drunk driving and she gets sent to jail? She fights a serious and intense bout with AIDS??
Oh Stan, why have you forsaken us? :(
This is a video I made a few months ago with some gifts I recieved for christmas. I thought I would go ahead and share it here for any that would care to look. It is a really simple and quick stop-motion of Mario getting a 1-up.
I want to do more of these types of videos but I never can come up with any ideas. I've got a few posable action figures, and could even throw some clay in the mix! I have another video on my YouTube account that was a claymation from my sophomore year in high school. That could be fun to do again.
Who knows, we'll see what happens. :)
So here I am on this brand-spankin' new Vox account and its already feeling pretty familiar. Its kind of weird. I haven't really been into the whole blogging community thing except for the old days on Modblog before that died and vanished. Oh well. Things change. Vox seems nice and looks like it has a lot of the same features with some value added. I'll it a try. :)
Hello, Vox. My name is Justin. People call me Sunny. Pleased to meet you.
